Fridge Temp staying over 40

I have a Samsung fridge/freezer combo and just purchased a smart thermometer for both the freezer and fridge after having an incident where I was unaware the door was cracked open.

The freezer, set to 0 degrees seems to be staying between -1 and 2 degrees, no problems there.

However, the fridge side is reading between 41-45 over the last hour despite being set at the lowest setting of 34 (which is what the fridge believes it is). While my sensor is near the top, where the warmest air would be, what is going on? I can only get the temp under 40, the safe/danger threshold, by running the “Power Cool” function.

Am I missing something or is there anything I should check that could help or explain why my temps are showing this high?

TL;DR: Samsung fridge staying between 41-45 degrees despite being set to 34.
