How do I explain I just don't want friends?
For most my life I've never really had any friends, I just think and act differently and that means very few people I'm able to get along with. As of now I only have one friend, we're each others best friend (in my case hes my only friend), and we care enough for each other to want to do things like potentially pursue media/related topics together in the future if possible.
My parents think I'm wrong for not trying to interact with more people more often, or not trying to hang out more, or not joining a club. The people I often interact with I can have a brief laugh with, but I know its brief, its more of a friendly laugh to not make things awkward, I don't dislike them, but I don't like them either. And I don't hang out often because my best friend doesn't live locally, so we've only ever met once in person for a event.
I don't think I'm better than everyone else, I'm just not interested in getting to know them, I have one friend, I feel content to stick with that one friend, if I lost that friend (I don't want that to happen by any means, it would destroy me), I would probably be alone for a long time again and I'm not scared of that reality, just the initial incident which causes the loss of the friendship.
How do I explain this without seeming like a asshole or something?
