What happened after you left your "comfortable" workplace?

Some context: I am in tech and I have been in my current company for close to 4 years, I really enjoy the culture -- managers are supportive, care for my growth and would give me avenues to pursue projects that i am interested in. The pay is also decent for my YoE in the industry.

Recently, I have been feeling like my growth has stagnated as an engineer since I have no exposure to what other firms are doing / have inplemented their systems -- I interviewed and got an offer at a firm in the same industry. Most of my family are questioning this move since my current job might be "endgame" to them but I do think I am still pretty green in my career and should take the next step to continue growing.

Just wondering about others' experiences here taking the jump, and if it worked out well or otherwise and what to do if it does not work well.
