...and while it's nice that it's not a bot (even without the tons of accurate references to the canon material, the account was created pre-botmaggedon), I'm actually frustrated that this happened.

The fic's summary makes no secret of the fact that this is a canon-divergent story that intends to have two characters end up together. It is in fact very overt in stating that. So are the tags. Why are they here complaining? Why are you in my croissant shop screaming about the presence of croissants?

And this person, as you can see, had already swung by with a...mansplainy comment, shall we say, quite a long time ago. I can't reveal just what it was, because it'd identify the source material , but it wasn't some witty reference. It was like me naming a fic about The Little Mermaid 'silence speaks' and them going 'funny title because in the original she loses her voice'.

I guess it's the price of playing around in an historical fandom, but...my dude I can Wikipedia. The source material itself doesn't align perfectly with history. Their helpful historical note wouldn't have made a lick of difference in my story.

I won't be answering. I blocked this person right after the screenshot because my free time has become so limited that I really don't want to waste time arguing with a couch historian. But why, why in the year of our lord 2026 are we still doing this?

A real human hate comment!
