Hey everyone! I’m in a bit of a pickle and would really appreciate some help and feedback if possible! <3

My car is a 2023 Honda Civic LX with CVT. I had to look this up, but I think it’s a K20C2 model, 2.0-liter inline-4 engine?

Here is the context: I got into an accident. It was my fault…I saw the other car too late before trying to turn out of the way last minute and clipped my passenger side tire/wheel/rim and their car from behind as well. It got towed and I couldn’t pick my car up until the next day.

When I arrived to check my car from the tow yard AFTER the accident, I had to wait for my insurance’s tow truck to take my car to a body shop. The outlet at the tow yard office didn’t work so I asked them if I could sit in my car and charge my phone. They let me, and when I turned on my car, everything worked. The radio worked, my CarPlay turned on, and I was able to charge my phone.

My car spent a couple of weeks in the shop and they called me down last Friday to pick it up after repairs. When I turned on my car and connected my phone to put my map on, nothing worked. The screen was on but it said “radio off”. When I pressed the power button, it still wouldn’t turn on. My phone wouldn’t charge when I connected it and none of radio menu buttons worked (not even the volume buttons on the steering wheel). CarPlay wouldn’t turn on. The only thing that worked was when I put the car in reverse, the rearview camera would pop up on the screen.

I mentioned the problem to the manager and he was shocked that they didn’t check my radio during calibration. I waited a couple of more hours while they worked on my car, but they told to come back on Monday when their specialist was in.

The specialist checked my car on Monday and they could not figure out what was wrong with the radio. My insurance and the body shop said I had to take it to a Honda dealership to figure out what was wrong.

The dealership called me today and stated that they could not find any damage to the circuity, electrical wires, etc. that would prove that the damage was from the accident or the body shop repairs. They said that the only thing that worked was when they disconnected a radio from a 2022 Civic and put it into my car, it ended up working. I am shocked because it seems strange that everything worked perfectly fine right after the accident, but when I get my car back nothing works?

In the paperwork the body shop gave me regarding the repairs, I noticed that they connected and disconnected my battery which makes me suspect it might be something related to that? I used AI and described the problem to it in detail, and it gave me some ideas that makes me believe that this issue was caused by the repair, but ik AI does not replace human knowledge.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this problem?

usb charger/radio/carplay worked after accident, but after body car repairs they do not… what can be causing this issue? Pics for context
