We gather here today to mourn the tragic and untimely passing of what was once believed to be a fan subreddit.
Born with promise,
Created with hope,
Intended as a gathering place for listeners.
A digital town square for discussion.
Memes, polls, and shared laughs.
But alas, that vision did not survive.
Instead of celebration, we found condemnation.
Instead of inside jokes, we found inside grudges.
Instead of “Did you hear that bit this morning?”
we found “Here’s my weekly dissertation on I cbarely listen I to something I claim to hate.”
It was not felled by trolls.
It was not defeated by apathy.
No.
It was lovingly suffocated by people who simply refuse, to change the station.
We get it. They’ve changed. It’s like they grew and evolved as individuals. They are no longer the same people they once were. But not you. You stared self-development in the face, and said, “Forget that noise.” As the opportunity to better yourself arose, you looked it in the face and said, “Not today Satan”. They are no longer who they once were, but you are. Because change is scary, and you’ll never stop being cool.
And that’s okay.
But somewhere along the way, instead of quietly moving on, instead of just turning that dial and finding solace in something new that brings you joy. You chose hate.
You opened Reddit. You came to r/Rizzshow. You took time and energy out of your day just to announce to random internet strangers, that you do not like something about the show. Probably a cast member. Or a take. Or a new segment. Just something. In all honesty, you barely listen anymore. We can’t believe you even caught that segment that disgusted you so much, you couldn’t help but post about it.
As if the Rizz and the crew were awaiting your quarterly review.
What was meant to be a fan forum, became a support group for people allergic to joy.
A place where karma is harvested not through creativity, but through collective dissatisfaction.
So today, we do not mourn what it became.
We mourn what it could have been.
A place of community.
Of shared nostalgia.
Of the occasional dumb meme that makes you laugh at work.
Instead it became the digital equivalent
of sitting in a restaurant after you’ve finished eating, just to tell everyone walking in that you didn’t like your meal.
To those still posting, we wish you peace. And perhaps, a hobby.
Rest in peace r/Rizzshow
May you one day discover that the “unfollow” button was there all along.
