how to recreate a buzzcut look? or would a bald cap suffice?

Hi! I want to cosplay Jimmy Hopkins from Bully at PAX west this year - I know it's not for a while still, but I'm gonna be traveling a lot beforehand, so I'm trying to get a jumpstart on the cosplay lol.

I'm a woman. I've cosplayed three times before, so I have a little bit of experience, but not that much, I'm def still an amateur. All of my other cosplays were either ones that required a wig with a lot of hair so it was easy to hide mine under, or were a character I could just have my normal hair out for.

I have hair that is pretty fine, but it's long-ish, like nipple length, and so is sometimes difficult to flatten under a wig cap. The last cosplay I did was a male character with short hair, and while I fit all of my natural hair under the wig okay, it was a little lumpy.

Any tips for how to recreate Jimmy's buzzcut? Should I just use a bald cap? (if so, any recs or tips? I've never used one before) Is there a way to make a bald cap look like it has a buzzcut? I tried looking up other people cosplaying Jimmy, and most of the ones I could find were dudes who just buzzed their hair, which I'm too much of a coward to do. I've seen some cosplays of him that include a hat (which he can wear in the game), so that is a possible option, but I'd love to do his hatless look if possible.
