(AIO) DM is a little too helpful
To preface this, this is my first ever campaign. It’s a paid campaign with a table of 7 other people I met the day of the first session.
We were prepping for a challenge, a sort of puzzle, and midway through our discussion on possible strategies and synergies, the DM spilt the beans on the entire thing. Telling us how each turn would play out, what skill check we would roll, what saves would be required, and precisely what dangers would and could cause a loss.
I think the DM just wants to put us on the right track
And set us up for success, but it took the surprise and thrill of the coming competition and made it trivial. I’ve been thinking about DMing the DM and respectfully suggesting he let us possibly fail if our ideas were a little off but I’m worried that this is the norm or maybe I’m overreacting
Either way I’m having a great time so far. The dm is very descriptive and always seems to quickly accommodate all of the parties actions and seamlessly keep the story going
