Uneducated Opinions>Facts

Rant

Feeling madder than a hornet after reading somebody's comment about how diabetes can be treated with lifestyle changes. YES, lifestyle changes can help walk you back from Type 2. But with Type 1, you could be living off of air and water and still die in three days or less. You can't choose to be hydrated and not drink anything. It drove me up the wall. But I also recognize that it comes from a place of incomplete knowledge. People with Type 2 diabetes, who think Type 2 is the only diabetes are going to think it's ridiculous that somebody can't get their sugars under control without insulin. It also doesn't help that Type 1 diabetics go through a honeymoon phase so it may not seem necessary initially. Whew. Winding down now after my rant. All I can do now is beg, please never, ever, ever treat your opinion as fact. ESPECIALLY in the meeical field. You could end up killing a diabetic in DKA by telling them to "get over it".
