[Admissions Advice] Should I accept CMU MSML offer ?
I got an admit from CMU MSML alongside Columbia mscs and UCSD MSCS, where I can do a thesis. I know in msml we can do research with a prof, but will it be the same as a thesis?
Also, MSML will cost 20-30k more than UCSD; based on the current job market is it worth spending that much? Like, I want to know the status of current students: are they getting internships, and how difficult is it to get a TA/RA?
One last thing, I have applied to UIUC and Cornell mscs, and both are fully funded. I have applied to Stanford ICME and ETH. I know they are extremely difficult to get into, but should I wait for those or accept my msml offer.
I’m not very sure about the future, maybe a PhD or research role or research startup, so I am looking for a program which can give me freedom to explore, and if anything goes wrong, that tag (ik skills are equally important) will back me because a few of my friends are saying because of many programs, CMU's reputation is declining; idk how much it is true.
