How livable is Thompson for a woman?

So I'm likely moving to Thompson for a couple years for work, how bad is it really for a younger woman? I'll need to live in or near Eastwood to walk to work (I don't have a car), I've heard its bad but the Princeton Towers are okay since they got new management? I know about friuli suites but its too far.

Any advice or insight would be a huge help, thanks.
