⭐ EMOJILAND ⭐ a 100% vibe coded platformer game ⭐
I vibe‑coded a little “no‑asset” game called Emojiland for myself and thought I would share it. It uses built‑in Unicode emojis for every enemy, about 20 different ones, each with unique mechanics inspired by classic 90s platformers. All the visuals are drawn on the fly with abstract shapes and colors, fully browser‑based in JavaScript.
The game works on desktop or mobile. Check the title screen and HUD for controls, then just experiment with everything you see to learn the mechanics. Every run is unique thanks to procedural generation, and the whole thing is meant to feel goofy, light, and chaotic. You sprint, jump, stomp, and blast your way through colorful levels packed with emoji enemies, collectibles, and power‑ups that can completely flip a run. It’s fast, silly, and still skill‑based. Boss fights are a work in progress I just added, the goal is that “one more try” energy where every run throws new nonsense at you in the best way.
I built the whole thing in about three days of on‑and‑off prompting, never even looked at any code files (even though I know the language well, the project was to vibe code it 100%!). So fun, just prompting, playing, adjusting prompting, playing, using Codex CLI and Gemini Antigravity in tandem.
It’s still a work in progress, and I’m actively adding fun stuff. I’m totally open to feedback and ideas. I’m considering a lobster‑emoji boss…🦞
Enjoy! ✌️
