Malvern Ward proposing a commuter rail trial linking Springfield, Sheffield, Darfield, Kirwee, and Rolleston to Christchurch

It looks like a proposal is being put forward to have Mainland rail extend their rail service along Springfield, Sheffield, Darfield and Kirwee to go through Rolleston onwards to Christchurch. It seems like this trial is for more than just event traffic but commuter services too. The details are on the Selwyn council site
