Does the GM have to report to OMVIC that you left/were let go?

One of our sales guy was just let go from our dealership after only 2.5 months and I feel like it was planned weeks before by our GM. About 2 weeks ago our GM randomly messages him and asks for his OMVIC license number, nothing else was said.

For those who are familiar with the process, what happens to your license once you no longer work at the dealership?
