I'm sorry, I agree. This show is so messed up.

I don't mind the female characters. I don't mind the gay characters. It's nice to have that. Gay Kingons are fine.

I excused the chair, because this was a school. I excused the constant sex jokes, because the military has a lot more sex and human relationships than previous Star Trek. I excused the lack of technical lingo as them trying to get a larger audience. I even excused the Captain's odd behavior as part of her culture.

Now, in S1E6, you're telling me they train their cadets in an environment that isn't even under their control? It isn't nearby Starfleet? It doesn't have patrolling ships in the area? That's completely normal as hell.
