34M Portugese considering Nursing (EN vs RN) wanting to immigrate
Hi everyone, I’m a 34-year-old male from Portugal with a high school education and several years of experience working as a bartender. I’m looking into moving to Australia to build a more stable future for my daughter, and I’m considering studying nursing as a long-term career pathway. I’m trying to understand what structured pathways exist for someone in my position for example, studying in Australia and transitioning afterward and what general requirements I should be aware of before committing.
I’m also deciding between studying to become an Enrolled Nurse (Diploma of Nursing) or going straight into a Bachelor of Nursing to become a Registered Nurse. From a long-term career and migration pathway perspective, which qualification tends to provide stronger employment outcomes and stability? I know I’m starting later in life, but I’m motivated to retrain and build a better future for my daughter. Any guidance would be appreciated.
would really help.
