Would you use an inter city car pooling service?

I've used similar services in Europe, but I can't find anything similar here. I'm prototyping a service where a driver can pick up someone going the same way for a small fee. Just curious if people would actually use it.

Like from NYC to DC for, say, 30 bucks.
