Cameron Winter Geese guitar work

Can anyone more well versed than me enlight me on what exactly is Cameron doing with his guitar, specially live. Sometimes I can't even hear him at all, at others he seems to be making textures, at others he's more of a rythimic and counter melody part to Emily, who with no doubt is the main guitar and awesome. Their compositions are very interesting at least to me, it seems like they are always finding non-obvious ways to appeal and progress the song. Not necesseraly worried about fixed roles, specially in Cameron's case. it looks like he floats between the instruments assuming different roles for different occasions, even among the same song.
