Nail health

I have been getting fake nails for probably 10 years now, acrylics originally, switched to gelX probably about 4/5 years ago now. Up until recently I loved my gelX nails. Since the fall of 2025 I’ll say, my nails have been constantly breaking off, I lose 2-4 nails every set, with the first nail breaking off within less than a week and it’s always the same 4/5 nails. I’ve seen the same nail tech since I’ve been getting gelX and she hasn’t really done anything different that can explain why this keeps happening. I recently went on a trip to Japan and I got my nails done there, I am unsure what kind of extensions / gel they used but I’ve had them for a week and I already feel one of my nails starting to lift after just having them for a week (which is actually longer than late as it’s been 4-5 days with my last few sets).

I guess what I’m looking for is just some advice as to why they keep breaking off? It’s just frustrating at this point because I spend so much money on my nails and they shouldn’t be breaking this easily 😭
