Pocket depth numbers?

question

So at my last visit to the hygienist I asked if they could check my pockets and I was just ignored and she just went ahead and started cleaning, is that normal? I feel hella awkward for even asking but I have health anxiety so I really want to know.

I did ask her at the end of cleaning if it looked like I had gum disease and she said no not all and that I’ve done a good job cleaning and should just keep it up.

But it’s really bugging me that my pocket depths weren’t checked or recorded even though I asked at the start, how can a hygienist know just from looking? I know I can book for dental checkup to get an x Ray but I’d rather not spend the extra money when just checking the pocket depths would be more than enough of an indication to be sure for me. As I don’t have any visible symptoms, no bleeding bad breath and I floss every single day. X Ray seems kinda overkill, but I don’t know what I should do, maybe call reception and ask if they have any numbers recorded?
