Why is the store so garbage on steamos?

Seriously, why is finding anything on the store on steamos so booty cheeks? New releases are not new and any new games that do come out somehow get buried in the horrible ui.

I go on my handheld and look daily for new games but somehow games like stardew valley and 7 days to die, games that are 5 plus years old are first on the new release list. I then go on my desktop and can actually see new games releasing everyday.

How does that make any sense? it feels like it's impossible to see what's releasing while just using my handheld and I shouldn't have to go to a browser to see what's dropping daily and that I'm being censored or gated off from 95% of what's actually on steam store.
