I was offered a Trade Marketing experienced role as a fresh grad, need advice
Hello, need ko lang ng advice. For bg I'm a fresh grad (F, 23) from a Big 3 provincial, and graduated Magna. I tried applying sa isang food-resto chain sa province namin (they're known throughout the region), since kahit na alam kong na sa Manila ang opportunities, gusto ko talaga magstay muna sa province namin para makaipon.
Anyway, yung initial na inapplyan ko sa kanila is "marketing specialist" lang since I know pwede entry level role. But then nung nag initial interview ako with HR, trade marketing role pala siya na ideally pang 3-5 years of experience and would req you to visit their other regional resto-chains, "implement LSM, manage budget, monitor sales, prepare operational and performance reports, etc." (this is based on their job descrip). I'm from a comm background trying to get into marketing-comm so I know kaagad na the role is really for those na may exposure na to resto executions.
After that interview and knowing the role, I was expecting na na it was not for me, and nagkamali lang sila sa job posting. I did the initial interview 3 weeks ago, then this week nagreach out bigla sila inviting me to a 2nd interview with the hr director and hiring manager. Not for the marketing specialist role, pero for the trade marketing role. I clarified if pang entry level role ng trade marketing ba siya, but they said its the same as before. They had a delayed response daw after reviewing a volume of applicants and the reason why they reached out is confident daw sila sa background and potential ko to fit the role (nung naisalang ako sa initial interview, wala akong knowledge sa job descrip ng trade marketing role since nga marketing specialist pinost nila, kaya like any usual interviewee, I just said nung interview that I'm confident I can step up naman sa responsibilities ng role and I was informed na team naman daw kami so I said I was willing to ask for help or be trained naman to step up for the role). But after nung interview ko I saw that they reedited yung job posting from marketing specialist to trade marketing, and they re-opened applications uli (dito medyo sure na ako na di talaga para sa akin yung role, kasi they reposted and re-edited the posting).
So now, idk if they're just desperate to fill the role to reach out to me uli (they closed the job post with 7 other applicants), and tbh I'm scared na baka mamaya hr just wants candidates na maipasa na sa manager, tapos pag nasalang ako magtaka yung manager bat ako up for an interview eh clearly I have no bg or exp with the role. I really was just aiming for an entry marketing role, gusto ko makapasok within the marketing/brand management industry so yun yung minention ko sa interview, alongside my org work, internship - typical fresh grad stuff.
So pls pls need advice. What should I expect of the role? Gaano kachallenging yung magiging workload since mukhang on-field siya? As for the pay, 18-20k daw yung entry (this is provincial), but not yet a fixed cap and would depend sa hiring manager. I'm not sure din if this would req me to drive (I know how to drive but should I expect may car and car allowance itong role?). Is the role, realistically (assuming magbibigay silang training or not), fresh grad friendly?
Thank you so much!
