Help w/ locating a detained juvenile

I happened to be at the right place at the right time…or maybe the saddest place and time….recently when I witnessed a young man (13) being arrested for the unthinkable to protect his little sister from further harm from their stepfather. Nobody was willing to protect these kids from this monster. My daughter knows the kid, his whole story about how he committed the act, why, his background story, but only knows his age and first name. She says he has a heart of gold - he always holds the door open for females and keeps a protective eye out for them. I’ve been trying to reach the homicide department & juvenile detention facilities as an independent reporter. I would like to get ahold of the family and/or his attorney to publish his story (not for monetary gains). If anyone in or around the Tampa Bay Area can help me locate him and maybe get him whatever legal resources available, it would be greatly appreciated. I don’t know if he ended up with a public defender or not. He has a bumpy road ahead of him at such a young age. My mama heart hurts for this kid. I want to help him in whatever capacity I can.
