Spectrum tried to scam me...right?
Internet went out around 1645 or so (and still out as of this post). I used the little "chat with us" on their website to confirm I was in an outage, and oh boy. A few minutes passed of them "sending a reprovision signal" and "resetting the network" ... my modem was still doing the blue/white blink ....
... and then this...
After running diagnostics and resetting your equipment, I found that the signal strenght for your internet connection can still be improved, which is causing this disruption. Based on that, I would recommend getting a technician out to your area to investigate and resolve your signal issues. Would you like me to go ahead and schedule that for you?
...and right after that I saw a notice on the spectrum website indicating an area outage.
So, how was this person "running diagnostics", "resetting your equipment" ... and determining my "signal strength" could be improved ... when I was in an area outage???
They were trying to scam me into getting a tech out here to "resolve my signal issues." Right? That wouldn't have been free. Am I overthinking this? Other that the random area outages ... I really don't have any issues with Spectrum.
