Running multiple online projects taught me that “browser hygiene” is a real thing

Dicussion

This might sound dumb, but I didn’t realize browsers could screw you over until they actually did.

I run a few unrelated online projects at the same time: a niche blog with affiliate links, a small Etsy shop, and a couple of experimental Twitter/X accounts for content testing.

None of this is shady on its own, but I used to manage everything from one browser. Same cookies, same autofill, same extensions. Total spaghetti setup.

Problems started piling up slowly. One Twitter account got limited for “unusual activity.” Etsy kept asking me to verify my identity over and over. Even Google Ads started acting weird with approvals taking forever. I realized platforms don’t just look at what you do, they look at how you do it. These problems may be caused by the same environment hopping between multiple accounts.

I didn’t want anything hardcore or super technical, just a way to keep projects from stepping on each other. That’s when I tried AdsPower. Not as a “growth hack,” but more like digital compartmentalization.

Now each project lives in its own browser profile. Different logins and cookies, no accidental cross-contamination. It’s like having separate laptops without actually buying separate laptops.

If you’re running multiple things online and stuff keeps randomly breaking for no obvious reason, it might not be your strategy. It might just be your browser setup being messy.

Just my two cents.
