Why is this community so toxic

I got arc raiders 2 days ago after watching my bf play it with his friends for over a month. He doesn’t always have this horrible of a time with it. Idk if it’s because I’m a girl or what but no one is ever friendly I’ve met 1 friendly team that doesn’t just eventually kill us. I love the game but only after 2 days I’m starting to loose my interest.
