[CA] REALLY WANT TO BE A LAWYER BUT CERTAIN THINGS STOPPING ME (non criminal)
I wanted to know if law as a profession whether it be corporate (big law or mid law) in particular areas like IP, Employment, Family, PI or even in house roles later on - do they care about past mistakes done as a late teenager or young adult in college (18-22)
I have a clean criminal record - but was severely autistic and edgy in high school and into college as well. With videos evidence. I recently got an autism diagnosis as well.
But I was typically found saying the “n word” on camera or saying “woman can’t drive” (bigotry like posts) or “lgbtq was a Mental illness” etc when I was 18-22 in college days.
I am now a grown adult and plan on going to law school in my late 20s so more than5 years now.
But I was wondering if this resurfaced later is my career as a lawyer safe ? I have no criminal charges or arrests and am a model citizen otherwise.
How do law firms look at young teenage/early adult behaviours for someone with autism and no filter
Ps : I just took my lsat and got a 167 - I love reading and writing for exceptionally long hours and hyper focus on content I enjoy I really believe im cut for this.
