Why is it still so hard to talk about intimacy openly?
I’m a 24M in India, in a relationship with my partner (23F) for about 2 years. I’ve noticed that while people seem much more open about mental health now, conversations around intimacy or sexual concerns still feel awkward and avoided in real life.
Most honest discussions seem to happen anonymously online rather than with friends or partners offline. I’m wondering if the stigma is actually reducing, or if we’ve just shifted these conversations to the internet where it feels safer.
Has anyone else noticed this? What do you think would make these conversations feel more normal and less uncomfortable?
TL;DR: Intimacy still feels hard to talk about openly offline (24M with 23F partner, 2-year relationship). Wondering if stigma is really decreasing or just moving to anonymous online spaces.
