“Don’t be boring”

Started trying to date again with the apps and so many profiles say either “don’t be boring” or don’t bother if “you can’t hold a conversation”. I find this so odd because I don’t know you. Part of me gets it but I’m just supposed to hit people up with random cool, funny or interesting shit when we know almost nothing about each other? I feel like people are asking for tweets, stand up or fawning.

I do get the concept of ask about whatever you do notice in their profile but inevitably there will be boring questions…aren’t boring questions part of getting to know someone?

I’m trying to go out too, open to meeting people organically and I’m still just living my life so I’m not on the apps constantly but these specific expectations seem unrealistic to me.

Is this weird? Is it just me?

To me it feels the same as if I put in my profile “Entertain me.” 😂
