Needing help after relapse

Discussion

Roughly a month ago I had dealt with an event within my family that had surged my anxiety into levels I have never experienced. Consequently I started to take .5mg of Klonopin everyday to calm myself down. It was the only way I knew how and while it did work things within my family have settled quite a bit and I no longer need to use it anymore. Before this event I had been off of klonopin for a little over a year after a long taper from my previous dose of 1.5-2mg daily for 2 years. I recently went to my primary and told them what had happened and they were sympathetic and willing to help me taper again.

The taper schedule they want to do is .25mg for 2 weeks and then .125mg for 2 weeks and then stop. My doctor told me because the duration of my use was much shorter this time around that I would not need as an intensive taper compared to the last time. Does this sound reasonable for this type of and what can I expect since I have already kinda gone through this? My main concern is kindling but I’m not sure if it’s truly applicable in this case.
