Crawford v Canelo awkward scoring
Just re watched it, and I want to see what other ppl who studied the fight saw.
Don't get me wrong, Crawford actually was the better man that night. However Canelo was the more effective combatant early on. All punches are not created equal and in rounds 1+2 Crawford landed more jabs but his power shots didn't really land and Canelo outlanded him in power punches.
Round 3 to me is a swing so I'll call it Crawford. I also got 4+7 for Canelo. Same reason againt. Yes, Crawford threw more in these rounds but so did Canelo and he got the better shots in the power punches.
The thing to me is that Canelo didn't win these rounds as wide as the rounds Crawford took earlier on. Crawford, I think would have even dropped or finished Canelo in a 15 round fight. Crawford really was hurting Canelo in the later rounds with solid combinations.
However, you either win the round for 1 point or you don't. I counted 6 rounds for Canelo through Round 8. What exactly am I missing?
And what the fuck was the commentating and highlights? From the beginning bell, the narrative was that Crawford was just outclassing Canelo and that wasn't at all happening until round 8. Even the unofficial card was way out of line with the reality. 2 Judges got Crawford winning by a single round, and another by 2, meanwhile the broadcast is making it seem like Canelo got shut out lol. Even the AI bot suggested a draw at 114-114.
I'm curious to see anyone elses thoughts on this fight if they've seen it more than once.
