So disappointed in Walz.

Discussion

Kyle put me on the Walz hype train way back when Walz wasn't even brought up in VP discussions. And I continued to be on the Walz hype train when it was down to the final six VP candidates, and people still weren't treating Walz as seriously as the other five. And I was absolutely through the fucking moon when Walz was chosen by Kamala. It felt too good to be true. He was electric. He came out swinging and was taking massive shots at J.D. Vance and talking about how he couldn't wait to go on the debate stage and tell him these things to his face.

Then the debate comes along and he's cordial and even complimentary to J.D. Vance, who walks all over him. That debate accomplished literally nothing other than boosting J.D. Vance's approval numbers and granting him credibility in people's eyes as a potential president in Trump's absence whereas he had none before.

The real turning point for my opinion on him, though, was when he allowed the Republicans to bully him out of politics for something he didn't do.

My dislike for him was only further cemented when ICE ravaged Minnesota and he proceeded to do absolutely fuck and all about it.

And now... NOW of all times, amidst the rise of fascism, he has introduced a series of gun control bills that include a provision that would allow law enforcement to enter your home WITHOUT A WARRANT so long as you possess an automatic firearm. In what is pretty clearly a direct response to the massive spike in gun ownership amongst Minnesotan Dems due to recent events in their state.

Walz is controlled opposition. Pelosi was right to dismiss the idea of him being any sort of a bold progressive.
