Terminated with notice

Hi All,

I am a 2pqe associate at a UK firm’s office in Singapore. I’ve been working here for the last 11 months and have done well, with regular praise by my managers.

Last Friday, without warning, I was sent an email with my termination notice. This was a shock to me and I spent the weekend extremely upset. On Monday I requested that my termination be converted to a resignation instead, which the firm accepted.

My partner is now asking that I come to work for the remainder of my 3 month notice period, with 1 days wfh. I’m not able to do this because I’m suffering from severe anxiety and stress due to the recent events and the cold way in which they have treated me. The firm also has new colleagues joining soon so I’ll have to sit outside of my cabin to make space for the new hires and sit with the support staff.

Please could anyone let me know if writing an email to the partner stating my mental health reasons to the partner for a more remote working arrangement is advisable? Any other suggestions are more than welcome. Please help me out!
