Is it okay to be “behind” in life?

I’m a 19 years old and don’t have a job, don’t have my drivers license, and am also not in college. After I graduated high school, I was unsure of what I wanted to do but I immediately started applying to jobs and have been consistently applying since I graduated but still have yet to land one.

I would usually just apply to places on indeed but recently I started handing out resumes and calling into places around me to see who’s hiring. I rarely will hear anything back after applying to places but on the off chance that I get an interview, I will prepare as much as possible and even when I think interviews goes really well I still wont get the job.

There’s multiple factors that play into this, being that I don’t have any prior work experience, I live in a small but VERY populated town, with little to no job opportunities, and also that my brother was recently diagnosed with epilepsy so I have to be with him while my mom works, which means I have pretty limited availability.

I can’t get my license or go to college until I find a job because my mom can’t afford to really help me at all financially. I feel like a complete failure compared to everyone else my age but idk what else I can try at this point. Does anyone have any advice or have any tips on side hustles?
