We Are Movado. Always in Motion. Since 1881.
We’ve been designing watches for nearly a century and a half. Not by chasing trends, and not by trying to be the loudest voice in the room—but by committing to clarity, balance, and enduring design.
Since 1881, Movado has believed that time should be expressed with intention. Our watches are built around a simple idea: when you remove what’s unnecessary, what remains becomes timeless.
That belief led to the Museum Watch—now part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art—and it continues to guide how we design today.
What “Always in Motion” Means to Us
“Always in Motion” is not a slogan. It is how we think about time.
Time is not static. It moves through work, creativity, discipline, and daily life. Our role has never been to compete on excess or complexity, but to create watches that move with you, designed to be worn—not preserved behind glass.
Our design language is intentional:
- Minimal dials that prioritize legibility
- Balanced proportions meant for everyday wear
- Aesthetic restraint that allows the wearer—not the watch—to lead
This philosophy has remained consistent, even as culture and technology have changed.
The Icons Who Reflect Our Values
From time to time, we collaborate with individuals who reflect what we stand for—not because they are famous, but because their lives embody sustained excellence, discipline, and forward motion.
Ludacris
A multi-hyphenate by design, Ludacris represents rhythm, longevity, and creative evolution. His career spans decades, industries, and cultural shifts—always in motion, never static. That persistence mirrors our own approach to design.
Jessica Alba
Jessica embodies modern balance: creativity paired with leadership, elegance paired with decisiveness. Her transition from film to entrepreneurship reflects our belief that style and substance are not mutually exclusive.
Christian McCaffrey
Precision, preparation, and consistency define Christian’s career. At the highest level of performance, details matter. His relationship with time—measured in preparation and execution—aligns naturally with our own respect for discipline and focus.
Tyrese Haliburton
Tyrese represents a new generation: poised, thoughtful, and intentional in his movement. His approach to the game reflects clarity over flash—an ethos deeply familiar to us.
Julianne Moore
Julianne’s career is defined by depth and longevity. Her presence speaks to timelessness—not as nostalgia, but as relevance earned over time. That principle sits at the core of our brand.
These individuals are not spokespeople for watches. They are people who understand that time is shaped by how you move through it.
Our Place in Watchmaking
We understand that Movado occupies a distinct position in the watch world. We are not driven by complication races or heritage theatrics. Our focus has always been design as function—watches that integrate seamlessly into real life.
We believe:
- A watch should feel natural on the wrist
- Design should endure beyond seasons
- Simplicity, when done with discipline, is powerful
That point of view is not for everyone. And that’s intentional.
Why We’re Here
We’re here to continue a conversation about what timepieces mean in modern life. About design that lasts. About restraint as a form of confidence. About motion—not as speed, but as progress.
We welcome discussion, critique, and thoughtful debate. We’ve been doing this a long time—and we’re still moving forward.
