Birthday gift for newer friends with benefits?
Hii,
I’m in my early/mid 20s and I’ve been seeing this guy (25 M) since about mid November of 2025. Since our initial encounter, I’ve spent time with him 7-8 times (maybe more, i’m not sure). When we’ve hung out, it’s with the intention of being intimate, but we do have regular conversations in between, as well as getting food together, etc.
So, his birthday is coming up in a few days and i’ve been looking at gifts for him. I already ordered a pack of heavyweight white tees, a workout mat (because he doesn’t have one and uses something else when he does at home workouts), a narrow dish rack because he doesn’t have one and his sink area is really small, and a pair of black timberland boots (he has a brown pair already) … I only put an ellipsis after the timbs because I’m afraid people on here are going to say that i’m crazy for spending that much for someone i’ve only hung out with a handful of times (I was reading other posts earlier today). I didn’t see a problem with it until I read other people’s posts about gifting FWB.
Mind you, i’m someone who loves gifting people if it’s something I think they can use or will like regardless of how close I am to them but I also don’t want to overstep boundaries. These gifts aren’t being given with the intention of getting something in return. I genuinely want to !
I wanted to come here to ask if i’m doing too much or if it’s okay. Or should I reduce it to the boots and the pack of tees?
