Everything I’ve seen from this game looks great so far. The artstyle, characters, worldbuilding, fantasy vibe, graphics, all of it… except for the combat.
I can’t fully explain it, but something about it just feels off. It looks super flashy, chaotic and kinda over the top to the point where it loses me. Instead of feeling impactful, it almost looks like constant visual noise. I get why they went with a hack and slash direction, but part of me wishes they kept it more grounded with slower pacing and actual stealth elements. Not a soulslike, just more believable and less “screen exploding every 3 seconds.
It really throws me off is how the main characters are like absolute nukes compared to normal soldiers. I know power fantasy is part of the appeal, but the gap feels so huge that fights start to look less like combat and more like mowing down background props.
Maybe it plays way better than it looks and I’m judging too early. Curious if anyone else feels the same or if the combat clicked for you.
