would a small handmade painting be a good gift?

Hobbies & Personal Interests

Problem/Goal: i plan to gift a small handmade painting to my cousin as her birthday gift.

Context: i'm no painter. not even an artist. i got a few paint by the numbers kits for fun recently and i had some extra paint so i bought some small blank canvases. my cousin's bday is coming up and she really likes birds and watercoloring. she's been an artist for decades (though its not her line of work) and i wanted to try to make a painting for her. she's older than me and kind of like a big sister. so i made a small (think 8*8) painting of a bird. now that im looking at it, it's not very good. i tried my best. i used reference photos. but it's not winning any awards. i dont expect her to like hang it in her apartment, but im secretly afraid that she'll think my art is mediocre and would prefer not something so amateur as my work.

Previous Attempts: nothing yet. she doesnt know that i've started painting. i haven't gotten any backup gifts yet.
