Obituaries

What’s the stance of obituaries? I live in a “culturally Orthodox” country (Bulgaria) and everywhere you look you see obituaries - trees, houses, public buildings, street lights, etc. You cannot go anywhere in public without seeing at least a dozen of them at first sight. So I thought it was normal. But when I visited Greece, I barely saw any - like 2 or 3. So what’s the Church’s opinion on this? I hardly ever see any Christian (or any religious) symbols/motives on them as well
