My wife's location didn't match her story. I confronted her, but she wasn't cheating. Now she's furious. Where do we go from here? [36M/32F]

My wife of 4 years and I [36M/32F] share locations with each other and have for some time. The other night she was out to dinner with a female friend and I got a silly text from her phone that was signed by her friend. I pulled up her location to see what restaurant they'd gone to, when I saw that her location was in a parking lot behind a closed business. Kind of strange, but she was with her friend so I didn't worry about it.

She's always in bed by 8:30, so when she hadn't gotten home by 9:15 I checked her location again. Still in the parking lot. I called and texted her, but there was no answer. We have a toddler asleep at home so I couldn't head over there to check on her or anything. Within a few minutes, though, the dot starts moving towards home and she texts me saying she's on her way.

I figure after they closed out their tab they must have been talking in the parking lot. Maybe she or her friend needed to sober up for a bit. Again, a bit unusual but nothing too concerning.

Some background on each of us that will make the following make more sense. About 10 years ago I was in a serious relationship where my girlfriend cheated on me. I didn't find out about the infidelity until after I ended things, but it still had a significant effect on me. On the other hand my wife, in her first serious relationship, was accused of cheating my her extremely jealous boyfriend, who then beat her severely. So as you can see this was a powder keg of past issues, me having this deep wound from infidelity and her with a deep wound from being accused of infidelity.

Another relevant bit of information-- she is probably 90% straight but has kissed girls before and has talked about doing something like that in a future threesome. Realistically I think that's mostly a fantasy talk for both of us (we're kinda boring parents now), but there was a seed in my mind that she was attracted to some women (and yes, I would absolutely consider it cheating even if it wasn't with another guy).

So my wife gets home and I ask how dinner was. She says it was good. I ask if they went anywhere after dinner. She says nope, they came straight home from the restaurant and she jumps into the shower (she always showers before bed so nothing strange there).

Now my mind is churning a mile a minute and I'm starting to feel sick. I look up how accurate google maps is, and everything I read says it's incredibly accurate, which has been my experience. When I zoom in on our house while she's in the shower I can tell which phone is on which bedside table, for example. When she was listed as being in the parking lot there was none of the blue approximation circle-- it was extremely specific and it didn't move. It seems indisputable that she (or her phone, at least) was in that parking lot (which was not walkable to any restaurants).

When she gets out of the shower I ask her point blank if they went to the parking lot after the restaurant and she says no. Now I'm feeling this sense of dread, imagining like they must have gotten tipsy, gone there, and started making out. I couldn't see another plausible scenario at that time. I tell her her location showed her being there, and she denies it. Then she starts yelling, saying how could I accuse her of infidelity when I know that the last person that did that beat her and gave her severe PTSD. She calls her friend, who can clearly tell something is off but doesn't know I'm listening. My wife asks her what time they left the restaurant and she says a little after 9. My wife hangs up and starts getting really worked up, which eventually culminates with her shouting "fuck you". I tried to keep things level but did raise my voice when I said "the last person I loved cheated on me" or something along those lines, trying to explain where this was all coming from. Importantly (I think), I never outright accused her of cheating. Of course it was obvious that was on my mind, but I tried to make it clear that I was looking for an explanation for what I saw.

She leaves to take a drive to cool off. When she gets back she shows me a geotagged photo they took at the restaurant, timed shortly after that text I got from her friend. The picture shows them clearly in the bar, but the geotag location is smack dab in the middle of that parking lot a quarter mile away across the street. Unequivocal proof that the whole thing was a misunderstanding caused by a very weird google maps location fuckup. As soon as I saw that picture any anxiety or fear immediately melted away and I was ready to write it off as a dumb incident, an honest misunderstanding.

However 2 days later she's still furious at me. She is saying that given her history I should have been much more sensitive and never assumed anything untoward was going on. And I know, logically, that she would never do anything like that. Not only is she a good and honest person, but her history makes her even more averse to cheating than the average good honest person. I apologized for thinking that about her but also said that anyone in my position would at least think it, especially someone who's been cheated on before.

She is so upset that she's said things over the last day like "everything I thought I knew about our relationship has been turned on its head", "I'm not sure this relationship is healthy for me", and "I thought you knew me better than anyone."

In the light of day I feel like I overreacted and did irreparable damage. I am not good with sitting on thoughts like that-- they tend to fester in my mind-- and in general think that getting everything out in the open is the best policy. I wish I'd handled things differently, although I'm not sure there was a way to broach the subject at all without igniting a powder keg of warring neuroses. But at the same time I also feel like my reaction was normal and most people in that situation would have at least tried to clarify what was going on.

I'm looking for advice on where to go from here. I want to fix things with my wife but also I truly don't think my actions were unreasonable.

TL;DR: My wife's phone said she was not actually out to dinner. I confronted her about things not lining up, and she proved that her phone's location was just inaccurate, and that she was telling the truth. Now she is furious that I suggested she could be cheating.
