How to Beat Spam

I’m playing through story mode and I’m at the Novice League first fight for Street Fighter 6 after not playing for a year or so and literally all my first opponent does is spam the tornado flying spin kick and haduken. I literally can’t even get up with him doing it. I’ve tried blocking and no matter what combos or moves I do he powers through them and out damages me. I’ve lost 5 times already and this getting really annoying because I’m not even getting the chance to play to stupid game.
