Neighbor ignoring my text about their barking dog
Hello. My neighbor has two small dogs who bark if they hear anything really. One of them barks moreso though and is obnoxious, like it won't stop for ten minutes or like tonight, a few hours on and off. We live in those apartment homes that only have one shared wall and a fenced yard. So her yard is literally right next to mine just separated by the fence wall. The issue I'm having is, she leaves her patio door open while she goes to work for 8 plus hours (second shift) so that her dogs can go potty outside freely and still have access to the house. (Think a doggy door) I understand and can empathize with wanting your dogs to be able to go to the bathroom while you're at work, so long as they aren't a nuisance. I myself am a dog owner and know that dogs bark and what not but it's gotten to the point of I can't even keep my windows open in my house to let fresh air in because the dogs will hear everything I do (live my life) and it starts them up. It's not a problem when the dogs are inside because the insulation inside is pretty solid. Anyway, I calmly reached out to her a few months back to let her know because maybe she didn't know since she was gone and I came from a helpful place. She responded well to that text and said she would try to do better and leave them inside while she's working but again expressed how they go to the bathroom inside, potty pads are expensive etc. She has respected me and tried keeping to her word which was great. But this week she started up again leaving them unattended while she goes to work and sure enough the barking has started up again. I can't enjoy my place I can't enjoy my yard, my dog is dying so it's even worse because I want to have a peaceful environment in his last days and that is not happening. I texted her again tonight, just simply letting her know and even offered to help in some way. She hasn't responded and it's making me more angry. If she doesn't respond and corrects her behavior, great. But if she doesn't respond and it keeps up, what can I do? I don't want a hostile living environment. I don't feel I am in the wrong but I also don't want things to get worse. Any advice?
