Nobody coming to daughters birthday party

2 Years Old ✌️

hi everyone. my daughter turned two last weekend, I sent her to nursery with 10 invitations giving just over two weeks notice, she talks about her friends at nursery all the time and I figured the nursery would know best who to give them out to.

today is Thursday, and I've received 1 yes and three nos so far from the other parents and I'm starting to feel really stressed and honestly quite sad about it.

I'm pretty isolated. none of my friends have kids, and I feel quite alone in this sometimes, I'm also a single parent. part of the reason I've organized the party is to meet parents and connect!

what do I do? is it normal to feel sad and discouraged by all this? I feel sad for my daughter too, I remember being a kid and people not turning up to my parties, and I know she's two and won't understand or remember really, but still.

would it be weird to post in my local groups and find some attendees? obviously not giving out the info til I've spoken to people.

I might just be desperate to meet more parents and find people my daughter can connect and play with on weekends.

I've gone to baby groups and activities since she was born, but I'm really struggling to connect with parents, and it might be because of how I look?

I'm more gothy and alternative, piercings, coloured hair, tattoos. I'm nearly 27 but look probably about 18. I'm also trans and autistic, talking to people is NOT a strength for me.

I'm sad about all this, and maybe the people who haven't responded to the invite will come anyway, but I'm preparing for disappointment.
