Fears of job loss...

Rumor has it that our lead wishes they had the contracted cleaners back (they had them years ago before they started in-house hiring) and they are apparently looking into new companies to hire! My coworker thinks it's a scare tactic to get us to do better. The problem is half our custodians slack off while others like us keep our areas looking top notch. I can't speak for other schools in the district.

I'm in disbelief over this because me and some of the others have been at it for years and are well liked by the faculty. I know for a fact some would hate to see us go. What's wild is they cut off the old company because they didn't clean good enough. They wouldn't want another repeat of that. I've heard it is pretty expensive to hire out companies. Who would even do weekend and night events? I could go on about things that are "extras" we always do that they won't get from an outside company. I'm hoping this is simply a scare tactic.
