How do I make my Brant better?

Joined the game once more after a 1yr+ break, and completely forgot a lot of things..

Is he good? Do I need better echoes?

I’m still kind of confused about the whole crit thing, as he doesn’t crit much even with almost 60%.

Any information is much appreciated!<3
