3 weeks backpacking itinerary 🌸

Hello! My friend and I are thinking of backpacking through Japan in the summer. We’ll be spending three weeks there, arriving and departing from Tokyo. Does anyone have any ideas of a travel itinerary, or any previous experience with exploring Japan in 3 weeks? Thank you!
