How AI sensitive is the field of PLC?

Hi,

TLDR: PLC is also programming, but I haven't really heard anyone talk about AI in relation to that. You who all work with PLC, what is your take on AI for the industry?

I've worked as a low-code developer for a few years but planning to go back to school after summer to study to become an automation engineer, which does a lot of PLC.

Personal opinion is that regular coding/software development is already and will become very impacted and changed due to AI and how good it already is at writing out code (when piloted by senior who could do it themselves). I got a lot of software developer friends and they all agree, that industry is changing.
