Question to experienced meditators: how do you perceive intension after moving away from the ego?

Question ❓

I will try to phrase it concisely.

When I think of "will" or "intension" (are they the same?), I get a feeling that it requires an ego to make sense.

If you are acting in accordance with will or intension, then you are selecting how to act (even if its as simple as choosing where to direct your awareness). Selection assumes that there is some criterion based on which you select (?). I would assume that this criterion depends on yourself, your values etc.

And here is where I am lost. If you have left your ego aside, then how is it possible to still have values.

Arent values intrinsic to the way you see yourself acting on the world? And doesnt this distinction require ego?

Perhaps in order to act one requires ego (?). And experienced meditator just has a freedom to not act, be fully accepting of how things are. But then if you choose to act isnt it returning to ego and taking a step back from enlightenment?

I have placed "(?)" Because I am willing to discard those assumptions as I don't know whether they are fully true. But whats the alternative??

Thank you very much for help.
