Tips on performance?

Hey people, I haven't played E:D since forever - maybe 2 years or so. I still remember Odyssey launch and it left a really bitter aftertaste, especially on-foot gameplay and performance.

I have seen some news about new ground operations (are they even ground?) and was wondering how's the preformance on the ground for low-end PCs. The space and space stations never have been an issue for me - stable 100+ FPS (even with night vision on - which is a horrendous performance hog). I got ye olde RTX 2060, 5600x@4.0GHz, 32Gb@3300MHz DDR4 and I'll install it on one of my SSDs.

I plan on playing in VR (got old Samsung Odyssey), but normal screen is okay, too. Any tips and insights on how to maintain performance and visual fidelity are much appreciated.
