[greenbelt question] American Lock 1100 gutted and… 5 spool drivers, 1 serrated, and 6 regular pins.

Ok, so I just gutted my very first lock (and wrecked a spring doing it 😕).

The lock I’m working with is an American Locks 1100 padlock - by all accounts a greenbelt lock, and known for using spool, serrated, and serrated-spool drivers, and even for serrated pins to cause oversets.

When I opened mine, though, I found 6 regular non-security pins, 5 ordinary spool drivers, and 1 serrated. Barely any more security than my (orange belt) Lockwood 110/40 and Abus 55/40 locks.

It was brand new and still in its packaging, so I’m confident this is how it came from the factory.

Two questions: firstly, is this normal? and secondly, if I picked and gutted this thing for a greenbelt, would the lack of serrated-spool drivers and serrated pins make anyone doubt the lock was legit?
